Build a Case Timeline

Add dated events manually or generate a draft from case notes so the course of a case can be reviewed in order.

The timeline turns separate case events into a readable sequence, making follow-up review easier.

Before you start

Case timelines require Pro. For a manual event, have its date, title, and concise description ready. Optional AI generation also uses AI credits: enable AI processing consent in Settings, check your balance, and review every generated event against the original notes.

Add timeline events

  1. Open the timeline in the correct case.
  2. To add an event yourself, select Add Event.
  3. Complete the event's date, title, and description fields.
  4. Save the event.
  5. Review the AI consent and credit notice.
  6. Select the timeline's generate or update action.
  7. Verify every generated event against the source notes.
  8. Edit or remove any inaccurate generated event.

What you should see

Manual and reviewed generated events appear in date order and remain connected to the same case.

If something looks wrong

  • If the timeline action is locked, confirm Pro access.
  • If AI generation cannot start, confirm AI processing consent and available credits. Keep your manual events, check the connection, and try the generate or update action again later.
  • If a generated event is inaccurate, correct or remove it after checking the source note; never treat generated chronology as verified automatically.
  • If an event appears in the wrong place, edit its date instead of creating a duplicate.
