What HomeoStudio is
HomeoStudio (homeostudio.com) describes this web workflow: paste or type the consultation, let the AI propose rubrics, review them, and see the repertorization. Its published feature set, checked 6 September 2026:
- AI rubric suggestions from case notes, described as review-gated: the practitioner confirms each suggestion before it enters the analysis.
- A repertorization board that shows the source phrase for each rubric, its weight and its review status, and a remedy comparison grid for the candidates.
- Classical sources: the Kent, Boenninghausen, Lee and Hering repertories; Boericke's Pocket Manual and Hering's Guiding Symptoms as materia medica; and the Organon.
- Client records with session history, appointment scheduling (monthly, weekly and daily views), and encrypted storage.

Where the two products differ in kind
Consultation credits and monthly case limits. Using HomeoStudio's ten initial credits exhausts that AI consultation allowance; its FAQ does not say the whole application becomes unavailable, and states that all plans include client management and knowledge-base access. Similia's classical reading and semantic search remain available on Free, while both new cases and analyses are capped at three each per month. Its Pro AI toolkit is a separate paid entitlement. Compare those units explicitly instead of treating either free plan as unlimited analysis.
Source coverage. HomeoStudio names four repertories, two materia medica works and the Organon. Similia Free contains seven classical repertories and 21 classic materia medica books, including additional authors such as Clarke, Nash and Farrington. Compare the actual authors and editions needed for your coursework or reference reading; a book count alone does not establish retrieval quality.
Where the AI sits. In HomeoStudio the AI is the front door: notes go in, a board comes out. In Similia the AI is a layer over the same books a practitioner would open by hand: semantic search on every plan, and on Pro the Notes-to-Rubric extraction that shows the sentence each rubric came from, so it can be checked against the record the way the validation checklist recommends.
Appointments. HomeoStudio advertises a calendar alongside client records. Similia keeps consultation notes, prescriptions and follow-ups in a case timeline; it does not provide appointment scheduling. Decide whether you need scheduling inside the same product or already use another calendar.

For a workflow centred on AI rubric suggestions and appointments, the HomeoStudio questions to verify are how credits are consumed, which source editions are included and how a rejected rubric changes the board. These behaviours were not tested in this desk review.
