PALLADIUM.
The pure precipitated metal.

Strong inrlinalion to Uic forcible language and violent cxprev-ion*. 6th. — Several of alMvr »jiiiptoin« wrrr repeated. 7lh. — La^r n. again severe pain deep in I. hand, burning and Doting, as if part were shattered ; it wotce him. Towards m. peculiar pam in 1. Mdci never tclr before, disappearing on turning. Heavy, tired in limbs, inen and undecided, in m. Sensation in 1. arm as if it were gomg to sleep. Pain in rrctum increased till ■ p.m , when it ceased attcr a soft stonl. P.tn., frit worse j violent digging pain in r. lidc, 1 — 3 in. to r. of epigastrium, then pressing pain under I. ribs. Slight inclination to stool as if diarrhoea would set m, while walking in r. ; it also tecmft to him, rrpeatedly, as if he had grown tnuch taller. Dulneu in occiput lasting entire c. j burning on small spot in 1. groin (same in r. face in m.) \ increavrd urging to urinate, and he pas&cs more ; very lircd when walking, he reels on cinning into room ; burning in no'-e as from horse-radtsh, followrd by wafery discharge. 8th. — Thin stool, W)th quick and violent urging, as if diarrhoea would set in. L. arm as if 'goac to sleep " for i h. at 11 a,ro. While sitting itill, constant paialcw twitching which crouks fingers, till noon. Frequent paintiil pressure in cardiac region and low down in I. chest, occurring at intcrvaJs. Constricting sensation in r. bead, at noon, through entire inner 1. head at i p.m. R. comer of mouth pains as if sore. Edges of eyelid feel dry. 9th. — Dryness o( fauces and tongue j tong\ie looks redder in ipiddle. Took another swallow of the rinsings at 9 a.m. Burning and itching on spots below r. shoulder-liladc, also on various places on r. thigh and leg. For Mrveral d. two pim. pics on scalp behind 1 ear, running a slow course. Eyes dry and itching nearly every e. j rubbing gives no relief. Short violent stinging pain in I. mctacarpai bones and thumb. Again ilUhumoured, dro^vsy and laxy in c. After stool witn much pressing, sense of fulness in anus. (All stooN since proving commenced, save on 8th, occurred in aftemoun or e.). loth, — Drowsiness and fatigue again n e., but later ; he if very much exhausted and disinclined to work, lies down and goes to sleep if he can. Itching over whole bodv while undressing at n. There are small pimples in variou* places, besides those behind ear, painfully sore. 1 ith. — For nearly a week has had lume kind of dreara every n., viz. oi buildings which he was viewing or exploring. For several d., and especially this d., sensitiveness of a I. incisor ami tccling as it it wu a dead foreign body. Very painful contraction of muscles of r. neck, felt several times during proving. Vehicles on eyelids and pimples in whi*kcrs. iith^t5tb.>- Aversion to beer. Frequent headache as before, inwardly, in places size of apple or fist, or dull crooked stitches. - a Mrs. C — took 3 dr. of 4tb dil., June i6lh, at 6.30 a m. Noticed no symptom till 6 p.m., when after a walk she had dull heavy pain in 1. eye and back oi ;orbit, lasting 1 h ; it grew severer in spreading over body and vertex, and then di«- Xppeared. 17th. — At 5.45 a.m., again 3 dr. Towards 8, after walk, pain in 1. eye and temple and around ear. During dinner same, and slight unpleasant sensation around I. eye. i8th. — Four dr at 5.30 a.m. Colic before rising, alterisards pain in r. temple. 7.30, while walking, pain in r. hip. 9.15, pain in r. thumb, then in forefinger, first in r. then in 1. temple, in r. shoulder and arm, then again in r, temple. In after-part of d. similar pains, shifting and transient, most frequently in temple and liingtt lasting there. 19th.— At 3 p.m. overpowering slecpine- lasting 1 n., pasting off with pain in 1. temple. With thc»e symptoms i'Iu>ed, and 6 globules of 5th, then of 6th, tor 3 moinings, produced no more. Her next period came several too soon.

- O&CAR TiETZF, April 10th, 1S50, at 9.^0 ajn.,took dose of ^rd trtf. Prover wa» troubled at time* with symptoms of tapeworm. P. seemed to stir these up, and alter its influence bad subsided, he felt no more of tbem for arcr a tweUrmontb. 5, Dr. pEHRSON, April 25th, 9 a.m., took 1 gr. of same. An b. taier, dulnefvs in frontal region, as if a heavy kwd wcie lying im brain j each expiiation t» accompanied by feeling as if this load was pushed tornard from occiput to forehead (it occupies more the central portion of the brain, temples being free). S. Dr. CoxB proved 3rd trit. on a woman, art. 19, who had had a hra<lacbe for some d. She took ist dose at 10 p.m., Nov. 16th. Slight pains and iichtngs in various paits followed almost at once. At 7 a m.ncut d. tiK»k another dose. V«ria. tions in headache, with great irritability, occupied forenoon p.m., sensation as ol flea-biles in various spots, and at s.30 violent throbbing throtiL ■ ■ ' '. preventing siesta for a time. I. Exftriftunts on animals. — i. A big dog got 35s of the chloride in Jiss water. 4 m. vomiting first oi brown (colour ot P, solution) fluid, latterly of white
pain and soreneu in liver; aversion to any exertion. Headache continued off and on all the time. {Ibid.)
- Same proved 3rd trit, on 5 other persons.
a. M. L. C— took 1 gr. daily for 6 d. Took 1st dose at 10 p.m. At 7 next m. formication over entire back and thighs, with itching; disappears from scratching, but soon reappears in a neighbouring place. Within 36 h. it had become very troublesome, and it la-stcd througliout the proving, and a d. after. One d. observed ^mall elevations Itere and there as of urticaria, red, on base whiter than skin. Stools &oft during proving, but habitual constipation returned afterwards. Slight fulness in forehead and sensation as if brain was being shaken lasted for 36 h.
b. S. A. C — , It, 10, took same for 5 d. Some headache j sensation of rough, ncss on forehead and slight itching, off and on for 1 d.
c. D. C — , act. I c, took same for 4 d. Formication and itching on various parts of body ; stools more frequent and softer than usual.
d. L. L. C — , set. 13, took same for 4 d. without effect.
r. J. R. C— took I gr. daily for 8 d. Slight numbness in I. forearm, extending to finger^ from afternoon of 7th d. till e. of nth. {Ibid.)
- Dr. Neidhard gave a nursing mother 1 gr. of same before 7 a.m., % A. befoie iihe expected her catamenia, which occurred throughout period of nursing. P.m., dull aching and weight across forehead and over eyes, Lids heavy \ for about an h. aching through limbs a& if beaten, with feeling as if menses would appear. Both symptoms diminished in e. without entirely disappearing. Child was irritable, and had frequent >:taoIs followed by flight colic. Next m. again heaviness over eyes and in forehead. Felt a^ if beaten in muscles of both shoulders and arms to elbows ; improved in c. Men>cs did not appear. [Ibid.)

2^ A rabbit got 5 gr. in water, without effect ; it then got 1 5 gr. in water. It would not cat, and on the jrd d. died, F.M. — The walls of stomach, especially between the serous and muscular layers, permeated by a reddish, clear fluid, m.m. thickened, greyish-brown, very brittle. On surface of lungs small black points, intestines much contracted, liver and spleen small, animal much emaciated. In both auricles and in r. ventricle of heart blood. M.m. ol bladder inflamed, urine dark, thickish, red, but containing no trace of P. {Ibid.)
- An old, medium-sized dog had 3 gr. in Jiw water injected Into the external jugular. He yelled out, made lor 3 respirations, and died in i m. P.M. in 5 m. Heart not contractile. In its r. half not coherent coagulated blood, in I. half fluid, scarlet. coloured blood; peristaltic movements active, vitluntary muscles irritable. {Ibid.)
