About H.C. Allen
Henry C. Allen, MD (1836–1909) was a Canadian-born American homeopath and a colleague of J.T. Kent. He founded Hering Medical College in Chicago and edited The Medical Advance, the leading Kentian journal of his time.
Allen specialized in materia medica teaching. Where Kent gave psychological portraits, Allen trained students to recognize the three or four keynote features that tell one remedy from another at the bedside.
