Common name: pus from the small-pox pustule.
It bears the same relation to small-pox that Anti-toxin does to diphtheria (A.).
This remedy is employed as a prophylactic against, and to modify the course of an attack of small-pox (Bl.).
An extended clinical record by competent and reliable observers attests its curative value in vairola-simple, confluent and malignant-as well as in varioloid and varicella (A.).
As a preventive of, or protection against, small-pox, it is far superior to crude vaccination and absolutely safe from the sequelæ, especially septic and tubercular infection (A.).
