Zinc phosphide, ZnP.

Preparation , Triturations.

Authority. (J. Ashburton Thompson, Practitionner, 1873 (2), p. 271).

1 , a woman, aged twenty-six years, took 8 pills of 2/3 grain each. for neuralgia; 2 , a woman, suffering from chronic gastritis, took nine dose of 1/72 grain each, and a young man debilitated by mental occupation took seven doses of same:

  • They complained of severe frontal headache, accompanied by frequent stabs of pains, apparently darting from before backwards to the occipital region, but intracranial, and not attended by any disturbance of sensation in the scalp; these symptoms appeared to me to be those of neuralgia, or neuralgic at least; and the second case so named them from his sister's description of her sensations. Under a dose equivalent to one-twelfth of a grain of Phosphorus, both patients very quickly recovered, and have had no return of pain, 2.
  • Vomiting two or three times after the sixth dose, and again after the seventh and eighth, 1.
