Richard Pitt Package
Two complementary reference works by Richard Pitt RSHom CCH — the 527-page Comparative Materia Medica integrating new and old remedies, and the Thematic Materia Medica / Therapeutic Guide built for busy clinical practice. Together they bridge classical polychrests with contemporary remedies from every kingdom.

Comparative Materia Medica — 36 Polychrest Chapters
Pitt's Comparative Materia Medica dedicates 36 chapters to major polychrest remedies, then compares each to newer and less-understood remedies across kingdoms. The 527-page volume groups animal (insect, bird, mammal, sea), mineral, metal, plant, fungal, bacterial, viral, nosode and imponderabilia remedies alongside the well-proven polychrest they most resemble.
Intrinsic / Compensated / Decompensated Framework
Every chapter follows Pitt's distinctive three-stage developmental model — Intrinsic, Compensated and Decompensated — mapped to the three fundamental miasms of Psora, Sycosis and Syphilis. This lets you see how a remedy picture evolves from constitutional ground to early compensation and chronic breakdown, and read unfamiliar remedies against the same axis.
Thematic Materia Medica for Busy Clinical Practice
The Thematic Materia Medica / Therapeutic Guide (600 pages, 2024) reorganises essential remedies around clinical themes rather than long traditional provings. Each remedy leads with a brief introduction and then groups keynotes and ideas under thematic headings in Generalities and Mind, so the material you need is accessible at a glance during a consultation.
Therapeutic Comparisons & Abridged Repertory
Alongside thematic remedy pictures, the Therapeutic Guide contains therapeutic comparisons for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions — including tropical and paediatric presentations from Pitt's African clinical work — and an abridged repertory drawn from Kent and Boger that emphasises modalities and major themes.
