Gelsemium sempervirens

van H. A. Roberts — The Rheumatic Remedies

Historical reference for practitioners and students. The statements below reflect the named author’s homeopathic teaching and do not establish treatment effectiveness. This text is not medical advice and must not replace appropriate diagnosis or care.

Gelsemium is of service in muscular rheumatism, but it is in inflammatory muscular rheumatic fever that it finds its principal use in rheumatic troubles. There its indications are clear and distinct—heavy besotted look, intellect befogged, pulse full, soft and flowing, high fever without thirst, great soreness and aching in all the muscles.

Gelsemium antagonizes Atropine and Opium.
