Common name: comfrey.
Comminuted fractures (B.).
Is an excellent remedy for broken bones where the bones refuse to knit (Calc-P.) (N.).
It facilitates union of fractured bones, lessens peculiar pricking pain, and favours production of callus (Calc., Calc-P.) (A.).
Irritability at the point of fracture (Hyper.) (A.).
In injuries of the eye if there is great pain in the eye-ball itself from the blow, it may have to be used (Arn., Led.) (N.).
Irritable stumps after operations (Hyper.) (Bl.).
Periosteal pains after wounds have healed (Calc-P., Sil.) (A.).
Psoas abscess (Arn., Asaf., Chin., Cupr., Phos-Ac., Sil., Staph., Sulph., Syph.) (Br.).
Inflammation of inferior maxillary bone with hard, red swelling (Br.).
Neuralgia of knee (Bell.) (Br.).
Pain in the occiput (Cocc., Petr., Sil.) (Br.).
Injuries to sinews and tendons (Br.).
AGGRAVATION: From touch; from motion; and from pressure; after mechanical injury.
AMELIORATION: From warmth.
RELATIONSHIP: Compare: Arn., Calend., Calc-P., Fluor-Ac., Hep., Merc., Nit-Ac., and Sil.
Follows well after Arn. for soreness of the periosteum after an injury.
