Glonoinum finds its principal use in rheumatic troubles following contusions, especially when affecting the back; always associated with it is the characteristic throbbing in different parts, especially in the head, on the vertex and in the temples.
Antidoted by Aconite, Nux vom.
Compare: Belladonna, Gelsemium, Natrum carb.
HEART
VIOLENT PALPITATION OF HEART WITH THROBBING CAROTIDS.
LABORIOUS ACTION WITH OPPRESSION.
BLOOD SEEMS TO RUSH TO HEART AND THEN TO HEAD.
PURRING NOISE IN REGION OF HEART WHEN LYING DOWN.
SEVERE STITCHES EXTENDING FROM HEART TO BACK.
NECK AND BACK
SENSATION AS IF NECK WERE GRASPED WHEN LYING DOWN, ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE LOWER PART OF NECK.
Sensation of tension and stiffness about the neck.
Nape stiff with intense headache.
Cramps in back and side of neck on throwing head backward.
SENSITIVENESS IN BACK AND UPPER CHEST, COMING ON AFTER A JAR OR BEING THROWN FROM A VEHICLE.
Sharp cutting pains across scapulæ.
PAIN IN BACK AFTER CONTUSION.
SUPERIOR EXTREMITIES
NUMBNESS and sense of weariness in left arm.
Pain from shoulder to back of right hand.
Rheumatic pains in fingers of left hand.
Sharp pricking pains in arms.
INFERIOR EXTREMITIES
Acute pain in left knee on motion, deep in joint without heat or swelling; sudden twinges or pricks while at rest, obliging straightening limb.
EXTREMITIES IN GENERAL
Great weakness of limbs, especially middle of thighs and arms.
NUMBNESS OF LIMBS.
Pricking in limbs.
CONCOMITANTS
INTENSE THROBBING IN WHOLE BODY, ESPECIALLY IN HEAD.
RUSH OF BLOOD TO HEAD.
PRESSURE IN HEAD SO GREAT AS TO SEEM AS IF SKULL WOULD BURST.
