dil. tvcTy n., without effect. On 25th, took 9 <lr. of i^t. dil. at n. In | h. flight vcnun^ with sinking faint feeling in stomach, extending to ahilomen. In ) h., diarrhoea, i*nh burning in anus hrfore and after >tool. 16th.— s dr. in m. Pain in 1. chest, feelliig of weakness and debility. 11, slight nausea, with 'enigo. ), yellow frothy diarrfaon, with tenesmus and burning in anus after stool. Cramp. like pain in hip at n.

A. Dec. ist. — 10 dr. of tinct. No symptomt. ind. — 1$ dr. Nausea in m^ dr-neiss of fauce> and sensation as if throat was >>wullen. 3rd. — S5 dr. Vivid drrami. 4th. — Aching of both ankles. Stitch-like pain under r. scapula, when ■toopingi pain in r. side of fauccf. Aching in abdomen after dinner; soon after, diarrhcca w-ith burning in anus. Aching in lumbar vertebnr, extending through loiiu and up spine ; aUo in various part" of body. Feeling of lassitude ; aching in arms and writti, as if Nprained by hard work. 5th. — Aching in occiput, in m. in bed, passins off on getting up. Numb pain in r. axilla, extending down ann along course or nerm* h.sting 3 h. Pain under venebral border ot r. scapula, increased by moving part, and by drawing long breath. 6th. — Some scapular and axillary- pain } also in r. knee, felt on going upstairs. 7th. — Still scapular pain ; dryness of nose; aching in wrists, extending up arms; constipation. 8tn. — 30 dr. By 9th, scapular pain ud become ver>' slight, and by loth had gone. On these a d., constipation, lath.— 60 dr. at n. 13th. — Aching in abdomen at intervals, with flatulence. Pain in lumbar and dorsal vertebrx at n. 14th. — Soft stool, with pain and flatulence in abdomen ; aching in limKi ; accelerated pulse.

c. Jan. 5th and 6th.— Took %$ dr. of 7th dil. at n., without effect till 8th« when he had aching in lumbar vertebrar and r. sacro-iliac symphysis ; occasional sharp p^jm in calves ; pain in either hypochondrium j dull aching in r. axilla, extending doi^ arms, and in r. shoulder. 9th. — Dull pain in I. arm ; occasional shooting pains ia loins ; pain under 1. scapula, aching in r. At n., 15 dr. of 3rd dil. Very mtlcK at n., to<.smg about a good deal while asleep. loth. — Dull aching in r. shoulder} in sacro-iliac symphysis, worse while sitting; and between shoulders. P.m., aching in lumbar vertebrae, with restlessness; flatulent pain in various parts of abduraen ; reslJeM sleep, nth. — A.m., painless diarrhcea : 15 dr. of ist at n. ijth. — Roughness mn^ soreness of throat ; numb pain in wrists and arms ; pain in I. knee and thigh ; lumbar and sacro-iliac pain violent ; dull headache for 3 h., worse on r. ; burning in eycs| aching in r. axilla; restless sleep. i3lh. — Aching in r. temple, lasting 3 or ^ h. 1 very restless in n, r5th, — Aching in region of inguinal rings, and great soicncas there on rising from recumbent position.

J. Nov. i9ih. — Took 5 dr. of 3rd dil., without effect, loth. — 10 dr. of tit, ^ n. Pain in 1. shoulder; oppression of chest, raising of a Quantity of blaclc.«olound blood ; great tendency to sleep, frightful dreams ; burning m phariotx. 15th.— 5 dr* of tinct. with frightful dreams. Woke in m. with headache and heavy yellow coating on tongue. i8th. — lo dr. at 5 a.m., la m., and 5 p.m. Same rtntlesv condition all n. : dreamed of being among Indians. Next m. hca^y headache; tcit weary and unrcfrcBhed. (Ail thi» very unusual.) 19th. — Throughout d. dry burning sensation ot' face, with intenw erythcmatou* redness ; headache; mind so contiiseifthat lie could not study; itching and pricking sensation on head, neck, and shoulders, ^oth. — Took same a* on iSth, with liame symptoms, though redness and hear ot fiice were even more aggravated. 31st. — As yesterday. Aug. 5th — 7th. — Took ao dr. 3 times, which brought on its full cathartic action, producing + or 5 large biltou^ discbarges in 24. h., without pain or griping. After subsidence of diarrhcra there came on upper front chc*t and side of hand eruption like eczema 5implex ; not troublesome, except when heated from exertion, when it has same itching pricking sensation as occurred during proving. {Ibid.)

h. Dec. 13th, i%yo. — Took iodr.|at 7 p.m. 14th. — 1 1 dr. 3 times. Slight frontal fulness; 1. foot numb whenever he sits still. 15th. — Awoke at 3 a.m., ana could not «t off again. Took la dr. 3 times. Feeling in forehead continued j headache in c. ; ■Might umbilical pain ; 'Stool dark brown, 16th.— 13 dr. 3 times. Sharp rheumatic pains in both shoulders and wrists; tongue white; stool fmall and brown; numh sensation at root of nose; constant yawning, \vithout sleepineu. 17th. — 14 dr. 3 limes. Dull frontal headache; eyes red and swollen; urination more frequent and copious; numbness in nose intense, rubbing relieves; sleep light and uneasy, very troublesome dreams. 18th. — 15 dr. 3 time*. Headache continues ; appetite ferocious, wants to eat conirantly; throat feels x-ery sore and swollen; dreams as before. 19th. — 16 dr. 3 times. Severe ague chill (commencing in back) when fitting near warm fire, but no coldness ot flesh ; head itches constantly, loth.— 17 dr. 3 timev Ridiculous dreams all past n. ; pricking sensation up and down spine. Continued to take 3 doses daily, increasing by 1 dr. each d., up to Jan. 8th, when he took 36 dr. iist.— Symptom*; as yesterday; stool, hitherto natural, first part hard aud brown, Utter part diarrhcric and greenish-yellow, imd. — Bowels confined ; stitching in hepatic region; felt dull and could not remember what he read. ajrd. — No stool ; dull, heavy, umbilical pain ; absent-minded, forgets what he is about. 14th. — Same symptoms; S5th. — Severe dull headache all forenoon, somewhat relieved p.m. ; bowels moved with great effort, stool hard and brown, 16th. — Stool natural; severe frontal headache. s?th. — Same as yesterday. 18th and a9tb. — Unusually sleepy. 30lh. — Severe headache, can hardly see ; terrible nausea commencing soon after retiring; last n. death-like feeling, with chills and shudderingh all over body. 3tst, — Nausea severe during n., but so relieved to-day that he can eat quite heartily ; otherwise same. Jan. int. —Every sudden morion causes everything to turn dark so that he cannot see ; giddy, a?( though he would faint away. an<£ — Wants to be let alone, to do nothing but eat and sleep; cannot concentrate mind on any one subject ; cold chills along fpine. 3rd. — Similar symptoms. 4th. — Same mental conditions; back of neck feels lame; armtltch and bum, with redness of skin^ also redness and flushed appearance of face ; eyes feel drawn together; stool soft, sticky, and dark ; copper)- t.isre in mouth. 5th. — Throat fceU sore, it hurts even to swallow water; discharge of thin watery mucus from nose; arms bum and itch, scratching relieves ; scalp itches intensely, has to scratch continually ; tongue heavily coated white; constant headache; considerable burning and smarting on passing urine (every h. or two). 6th. — As yesterday, but no movement of bowels and more drowsiness. 7th.— Felt so faint he did not want to get up, but was relieved of faintness after getting up and moving about ; head feels large as a barrel ; cor)'7a and throat 5)mptoms continue; stool hard and in balls; violent itching over whole body, shifting trom place to place. 8th. — S)nnpioms as yesterday, but more aggravating. 9th. — Took no more medicine. Sick and weary ; symptoms all keep tip; bowels costive with considerable umbilical griping; pulse 90 (normally 75); thirsty and feverish. loih. — Fearful dreams all n., waking covered with sweat ; head> ache lei severe ; can hardlv get a long breath from op])re5sIon of chest ; stool hard and dark brown; some chilline«s alternating with flashei of heat j headache, 15th. — Nearly but not quite well. II. Poisonings. — i. In doses of \ — « gr. Juglandln acts a-; a drastic purge, producing irritation and Intlanimation of the mucous membrane of the bowels ; if con.*

  1. An old lady, after taking 5 gr. of the solid extract daily for ) wccln, kad a pustular eruption appear on the thighs, hips, and natet, with intolerable hrhag nd burning.   2. A man took 1 gr. of Juglandin 3 times in d. While walking in c, Ick ihup wrenching pain in 1. side, and suffocating sensation in cheit, compeUiiic hiiB to stand still for some m. for breath.
