- Strong forcing pains, like those of labor, in the lower part of the abdomen, which varied greatly in intensity, and lasted from twenty or thirty seconds to a minute or longer.
- Pretty frequent desire to urinate, but no increase in amount of urine emitted.
- Slight increase in frequency of pulse.
- Slight degree of nausea on one or two occasions.
