  • While medicating the pellets, I was seized with oppression of the chest, to such an extent as almost to arrest breathing. The asthma was caused by a sensation as if the sternum were being gradually drawn towards the dorsal vertebræ. Expansion of the chest was difficult, because of the feeling of tightening. With this there was some confusion of mind, as if unconsciousness might follow if the dyspnœa continued. The attack lasted about ten minutes, and was followed by a general weariness, which passed off in a few hours.
