Platinum has a few symptoms that are peculiarly adapted to rheumatism associated with the hysterical state peculiar to this remedy.
Also in the beginning of heart involvement, in endocarditis and pericarditis, in articular rheumatism, when associated with the mental illusions, it may be indicated.
HEART
Incipient state of endocarditis and pericarditis in articular rheumatism; intense anxiety and palpitation of heart, pulse very thready.
NECK AND BACK
NUMBNESS IN NAPE CLOSE TO OCCIPUT AS IF TIGHTLY BOUND; CRAMPS IN MUSCLES OF THE BACK OF NECK.
Pain in back and small of back as if bruised.
SUPERIOR EXTREMITIES
CRAMP-LIKE PAINS CLOSE TO SHOULDER AS IF EVERYTHING IN CHEST WERE CONSTRICTED.
SORE BURNING AT ELBOW AS IF SCRAPED.
INFERIOR EXTREMITIES
TIGHTNESS OF THIGHS AS IF TIGHTLY WRAPPED.
Pain in left knee as after a severe blow.
PAIN IN GREAT TOE AS IF TIGHTLY BOUND.
EXTREMITIES IN GENERAL
SENSATION AS IF LIMBS WERE TIGHTLY BOUND.
Cramp-like pains in limbs and joints.
Spasmodic jerking and drawing pains in limbs and joints.
Hysterical rheumatism, < sitting or standing, > walking.
CONCOMITANTS
ILLUSIONS OF FANCY.
PRIDE AND EXALTED STATE.
HEADACHE INCREASING TO GREAT SEVERITY THEN GRADUALLY DECREASING.
HYSTERICAL STATES.
