Silica is of value in gouty conditions and in gonorrhœal rheumatism, especially where it affects the fibrous tissue and the knee joints.
The indications for Silica, especially in chronic conditions, are characteristic and not to be overlooked, and they stand out as sharply in the rheumatic and gouty conditions as in any other state.
FACE
Rheumatic pains in jaws extending into temples.
NECK AND BACK
Pain in nape of neck following lumbar pain.
STIFFNESS OF NAPE OF NECK OF ONE SIDE, CANNOT TURN HEAD BECAUSE OF PAIN.
RHEUMATISM OF LOWER CERVICAL VERTEBRÆ WITH VIOLENT TEARING PAIN BETWEEN SCAPULÆ.

CHRONIC SYNOVITIS OF KNEE WITH GREAT SWELLING AND ANCHYLOSIS.

After suppression of gonorrhœa pale swelling, parts very stiff, sensation of heat.
