Acerca de Dr. Massimo Mangialavori

Massimo Mangialavori was born on 30 November 1958 in Naples, Italy, and grew up in Milan and Modena. He qualified as a doctor in 1984 and went on to specialize in Food Science in 1987. He has practised classical homeopathic medicine since 1985 and lives and works in Italy, with consulting offices in Bologna and in Castel del Piano, on Monte Amiata in Tuscany.

Mangialavori is best known for developing the Method of Complexity (Metodo della Complessità) in homeopathic medicine, a systematic approach to case analysis and materia medica. The method describes remedies and patients in terms of coherent mental, emotional and physical themes, and groups remedies into families defined by shared themes and adaptive dynamics rather than purely botanical or chemical relationships. He set out this methodology in his text PRAXIS, written with Dr. Giovanni Marotta.

He has built and supported a number of institutions for homeopathic research and teaching. He founded the research association Ulmus in 1993 and, after it closed, established and directs the Associazione Ianua Medica Amiata (2014). Together with Dr. Giovanni Marotta he co-founded the international postgraduate homeopathy school CIMI-Koiné in 2000, and he serves as a Patron of the School of Homeopathy. He lectures on his method and materia medica internationally, including across Europe, the United States, Canada, South America, Israel and Japan.

Mangialavori has documented homeopathic remedy families across an extensive body of writing, including the Clinical Materia Medica (Materia Medica Clinica) series, with volumes on milk remedies, fungi, Rosaceae, arachnids, oil remedies and Arnica. He is also the author of the Suggesta repertory, currently at version 2.1, which is available on Similia.
