Benzoic acid is useful in gouty conditions with concretions in the joints and in syphilitic rheumatism; useful in gout after the failure of Colchicum; useful in arthritic conditions.
The gouty concretions mark the depth of the conditions where Benzoic acid may be called for.
HEART
PAINS CHANGE PLACE CONSTANTLY BUT REMAIN MOST CONSTANT ABOUT THE HEART.
PALPITATION OF HEART < AT NIGHT WHILE LYING DOWN.

PAIN TEARING, SLIGHT BUT DEEP, IN UPPER PART OF METACARPAL JOINTS OF LITTLE AND RING FINGERS WITH ITCHING IN PALM OF HAND.
FINGERS AND HANDS DISTORTED.
Paralytic pain in fingers.
Fingers swollen with tearing pain and fine stitches.
INFERIOR EXTREMITIES
Sensation as if legs were tightly bandaged.
Tearing pain in anterior surface of thigh.
Pain in left hip, knees and toes, then shifts to calf, then knee, then right thigh and ankle.
ULCERATIVE PAIN IN WHOLE LEFT LEG WITH SWELLING OF RIGHT KNEE.
