Common names: silica; pure flint.
Want of animal heat; always chilly, even when exercising (N.).
Ailments following vaccination, abscesses, etc., even convulsious (N.).
Many complaints in those of the scrofulous habit favourably affected.
He catches cold easily, especially when he uncovers his feet and head (Psor.).
Lameness in the limbs in the evening (at night-Cham.).
Stitches in all the joints at night (Cedr., Kali-I.).
FEET SWEAT, WITH RAWNESS BETWEEN THE TOES, OR A BAD ODOUR; ALSO COMPLAINTS AFTER CHECKING IT (N.).
Small foreign bodies in the skin or larynx (N.).
Scrofulous children, large bellies and weak ankles, and much sweat about the head (Calc-P., Nat-M.) (N.).
Over-sensitive; imperfectly nourished, not from want of food taken, but from imperfect assimilation (N.).

Of marked usefulness in running ears and fistula lachrymalis (Nat-M., Puls., Sulph.).
Styes or pustular affections about the eyes (Puls.) (D.).
Swelling in the region of the right lachrymal gland and sac. (N.).
Ophthalmic troubles with great sensitiveness to cold and a desire to be warmly wrapped, especially about the head (N.).
Headaches are worse from noise, mental exertion, jarring; better by binding the head tightly (Arg-N., Puls.), or wrapping the head warmly (N.).
Suppurative ear troubles, accompanied by caries in the mastoid cells (Aur.) (D.).
Stoppage of the ears, which open at times with a loud report (N.).
Difficult hearing of human voice (Phos., Sulph.) (N.).
Vertigo: Falling forward after stooping, riding, or looking up; rises from the neck into the head with nausea (Hr.).
Sensation as if a hair were lying on the forepart of the tongue (A.).
Congestion and thirst after drinking but little wine.

Difference between Sil. and Calc-S., in suppurative process:- Silicea promotes suppuration and brings the suppurative process to maturity. Calc-Sulph. checks suppuration and promotes healthy granulation.
