Mercurius sulphuricus

Common name: sulphate of mercury.

It is as important, as Arsenicum, in hydrothorax. When it acts well it produces a profuse, watery diarrhœa with great relief to the patient).

Hydrothorax, occurring from heart or liver diseases (Dig., Phos.) (A.).

DYSPNOEA: HAS TO SIT, CANNOT LIE DOWN (Ars., Lyc., Sulph.) (A.).

Short and rapid respirations (Bl.).

Extremities become swollen (Apis, Ars., Dig., Lach., Lyc., Phos., Sep., Sulph.) (A.).

Burning in the chest (Calc., Phos., Sulph.) (A.).

Diarrhœa: Stool loose, watery, causing severe burning and soreness (Aloe, Ars., Sulph.) (A.).

Morning diarrhœa; the passage is forcible and consists of yellow matter (Aloe) (Bl.).

Scanty, clear, scalding urine (Apis, Sulph.) (Br.).

Sore tip of tongue (Rhus-T.) (Br.).

Cardiac pain and weakness (Ars., Kali-C., Naja) (Br.).

AGGRAVATION: In the morning; at night; and from lying down.

AMELIORATION: From sitting up.
