Petiveria tetrandra, Gom. [So given by Mure; but it is probably identical with the Mexican and West Indian species, P. alliacea , Linn. The figure given by Mure corresponds to the latter plant; moreover, Mure states that the plant exhales a strong alliaceous odor.]

EYE

  • Eyes half closed, swollen externally, surrounded by blue rings, especially next to the nose, for three days, 2.
  • Rapid inflammation of the left eye, while at dinner, so that she had to leave the table; it continues three days, 3.
  • Heaviness of the eyes, and prostration as from sleepiness, although she is not actually sleepy, 3.

STOMACH

  • Sharp lancinations in the epigastrium, from within outwards, in the evening (fifth day), 3.

  • Numbness, which is felt three different times, in the upper and lower limbs, after rising from bed (second day), 6.
  • Paralytic numbness of the arms and legs, in the morning (fifth day), 3.
  • Painful numbness of the outer part of the arms and legs, 3.
