Common name: wind flower.
The weather-cock among the remedies (Br.).
Especially adapted to females, with blue eyes, very affectionate, easily excited to tears (Sep.) and of a very yielding disposition (Bt.).
One of the best remedies with which to begin the treatment of a chronic case (Calc., Nux-V., Sulph.) (A.).
Ailments from abuse of chamomile, quinine, iron, mercury, sulphur or tea-drinking (A.).
The disposition and mental state, are the chief guiding symptoms to the selection of Pulsatilla.
The forms of her symptoms are very changeable; she is very well one hour, and very miserable the next (G.).
SHE IS TIMID AND FEARFUL, EXTREMELY MILD AND GENTLE, AND SOMETIMES SILENT AND MELANCHOLIC.
WEEPS VERY EASILY; CAN HARDLY GIVE HER SYMPTOMS WITHOUT WEEPING (Kali-C., Med., Sep.) (G.).
VERY TEARFUL; SHE WEEPS AT EVERYTHING, WHETHER IT IS JOYFUL OR SORROWFUL (G.).

Throbbing, pressive headache, relieved by external pressure or by tying up tightly (N.).
Violent pain in the ear, as of something forcing outward (N.).

The first serious impairment of health is referred to puberal age; "have never been well since"-anæmia, chlorosis, bronchitis, or phthisis (A.).

Profuse lachrymation in the wind or open air (N.).
Catarrhal ophthalmia, with profuse lachrymation and secretion of mucus (Arg-N., Euphr., Nat-M., Rhus-T.) (Bt.).
Styes, especially on the upper eyelid (Am-C., Bell., Ferr., Merc., Phos-Ac., Staph.) (A.).
Agglutination of the lids in the morning (Arg-N., Calc., Graph.) (R.).
Rheumatism: Pains shift rapidly from one part to another, unattended with any great swelling or redness; chronic cases, with weakness, rigidity, coldness and weight in the diseased tissues (Bt.).
Urticaria worse at night, caused by fat, rich food (Bt.).
Chlorosis from abuse of iron (Bt.).
CHRONIC OTORRHOEA (Calc., Hep., Merc., Sil.) (Bt.).
Much pain in the ears, with deafness; the meatus is red and swollen (Sulph.) (Bt.).

Pains on first motion (Rhus-T.) (A.).
Pains: Drawing, tearing, erratic, rapidly shifting from one part to another (Bell., Ign., Kali-B., Kali-S., Lac-C., Mang.); are accompanied with constant chilliness; the more severe the pain, the more severe the chill; appear suddenly, leave gradually, or tension much increases until very acute and then lets up with a snap (A.).
Cannot sleep in the early part of the night, but sleeps late in the morning (G.).
Awakes languid, unrefreshed (A.).
AGGRAVATION: In a warm, closed room; towards evening; from warm things; from rich or warm food; from pork and pastry; from fruits; from lying on the left, or on the painless side; from heat; and during menses.
AMELIORATION: In the open air, from cold things; from lying on the painful side; from cold air or cool room; and from cold application.
RELATIONSHIP: Silicea is the chronic of Pulsatilla in nearly all ailments.
